Almost a wrap!! BLOG: 24
Hey what’s up everybody!
So the clock is ticking and our projects are almost to, but I feel really good and quite honestly not as stressed as I thought I would be considering it’s the week everything is due.
I just finished my CCR script outline which is three pages long and I already pre-recorded myself to make sure I stay within that 10 minute margin, so if everything goes as planned my CCR will run smooth. I’m going to upload photos of the outline but I’m not going to film it until probably Thursday because tomorrow is my birthday and I don’t wanna have to be bothered with filming something for a school project LOL sorry Mrs.Stoklosa.
I finished editing my video. I completed inserting all my credits and titles so now I’m just waiting for a little bit more feedback from fellow classmates and then I’ll be all set to submit.
Last night I FaceTimed one of my good friends Autumn, who is also working on the same project and we showed each other our film openings and gave some feedback to each other and helped figure out any last minute insecurities or changes that need to be made.
I also talk to my friend Isabela Gonzalez who is doing the project as well as her older sister Manuela Gonzalez, who had actually taken this class when she was in high school and now is a film student at Palm Beach Atlantic doing really big things up there, so hearing from her and some advice she had to give was super beneficial and helped guide me a lot with filming.
This might be my last blog post actually aside from submitting my CCR, as well as the film opening, which is super crazy to think about because when we were assigned this project it felt like it was going to take forever to get to where we are now, but it almost went by too fast!
I had a lot of fun doing this project, and as much work as these blogs were, they really structured my film opening and kept me focused each week to bring my attention to the project, so that it wasn’t a last minute ordeal, which would’ve just caused way too much stress.
I’m really excited to hear the critiques for my film opening as well! I want to see what everyone thinks and what are some things that I could’ve done better so that the next time I have to do a project, I just have more and more knowledge to benefit my next piece of work!
I’m going to post the pictures of my CCR below!
I hope everyone has a great week, but most importantly, stay safe and healthy!

Not kidding... BLOG 23
Third post in one night wow... actually let me rephrase that, third post in literally one hour!! So sorry to the readers that are trying to do something other then get nonifications every 5 minutes that I posted a new blog but here we are because I forgot to talk about the set change and why I couldn’t film indoors like the updated location as of today was..
So with the virus going around I was lucky enough to get a two person cast as well as an amazing choreographer/cinematographer. But with that came some restrictions, for example, we could all not be inside crowded all together in the same room. Understandable.
With that being said I looked out the window and to what do my eyes appear but a beautiful lake with a nice grassy area and good lighting. Lucky me... so we kicked off our shoes and decided to go dance in our white outfits on the grass/mud/leaves/dirt, long story short, our white clothes were no longer white after filming. I’m going to attach a few photos to get a visual of the set for you guys!

Ok I’m done for the day... let’s hope!
Can’t stop won’t stop: BLOG 22
I thought I was done but I have more to discuss!! Lol oops!!
So the film opening is a dream which viewers will see around the 2 minute mark of her waking up from her dream, which like explained in the previous blog, which was her battling between her choice of dance school or her boyfriend. At that point I’m planning on cutting the music so you can just hear the natural sounds of the morning without the background song, but I will make that final decision once I edit in the waking up scene.
The dream part of the opening is in Black and White and I chose to do this because I wanted to differentiate between dream state and real life with colors. I wanted her boyfriend as well as them dancing to be all one color and be shown as almost an equal. Like I mentioned before about mise en sans elements such as the costume and makeup, the meanings of using the color white are still the same, regardless of the filter I put on top of it!
Tomorrow I will be filming the poster shots of the dance schools on her wall, as well as her waking up from the dream. I’m also thinking about her waking up and looking at her wall of posters and as she’s doing so, have her boyfriend call her to show the importance of both in her life.
Until then !!

Film Day: BLOG 21
Okay so today was the first day I filmed and edited and I want to give my overview of how it went and the storyline to go with it...
We brought in a choreographer to teach us a lyrical piece that was used in a segment of the opening. The reason we did this was because our storyline is about a girl with dreams of going to dance school in New York City. Her boyfriend is also a dancer ( as you see them dancing in sync ) and has dreams of going to dance school as well, but also finds himself wondering to follow other aspersions far from the Big Apple.
The flashs of the posters on her wall are the schools she’s interested in, and the reason those are displayed is to show how she is torn between dance school and her relationship. As the video progresses, more shots of her are shown to create a little more focus on her and establish her as the main character of the film, because ultimately the camera will follow her wether she picks dance school or her boyfriend.
We took about an hour to learn the dance and master it before filming. We changed our outfits to predominantly white because we wanted to show the purity and youth in both young characters. The hair and makeup was very natural with neutral colors and styles.
The continuation of the film is intended to show the journey through the characters Future decisions and outcomes. This opening was mainly to introduce the main characters and a slight look into the conflict.
The title Love and Games still remains, foreshadowing the idea that there will be conflicts later on , as that is the reference to the “games”
