NAME DAY: Blog #4

A little sneak peak into some more details of the film have arrived! CHARACTER NAMES!!!!!!!

For the record, I feel like I had spent way too much time picking out these names but it was so worth it because I feel like it fits the image exactly for the characters being portrayed.

In the film, the male and female leads are being played by myself and Caleb Marin. I originally had the names just as Bri and Caleb, which I do like, but, I felt as though I could find something better.

For our male lead, I wanted something that sounds fun and caring but can also turn around and sound a little mysterious and darker. With that being said, I decided on ‘Miles.’

For our female lead, I wanted a strong name that also sounds sincere and sweet rolling off the tounge. I was set on Miles before I picked our female name so I made sure that they sounded good together. And with that being said, I decided on ‘Taylor.’

So there you have it, Miles and Taylor. It’s got a nice ring to it doesn’t it? Anyways, this is always one of my favorite parts of planning because finding the perfect names for characters is always so challenging but so rewarding!

LIKE I PROMISED: Blog #2

Happy Sunday and yes when I say Sunday I mean the Sunday I made you guys wait for to hear all about my idea for this film.

So let’s get right into!

The GENRE of my film is going to be a physiological thriller/drama with a storyline that I’ve been creating for months. The basis of the film is created around a young man who faces night terrors/sleep paralysis that begins appearing regularly in his night routine. His trouble sleeping is out of the blue, and he never seemed to have problems like this before. The reason I thought this film would be so important is because so many people are challenged with sleep troubles and it is almost rarely showcased in media. Our main character is accompanied by the female lead who is his fiancée and acts as the backbone of the film. Their relationship is picture perfect and I think that’s another addition that will make this even more interesting is that how could a man with a great job, a beautiful fiancée, and pretty much everything else going for him, could be struggling with such a psychological trauma out of no where.

I wanted the main characters to be relateable in the beginning. I want the audience to fall in love with our leads so when bad things start happening to our male lead, you feel his struggle and you also feel what our female lead is feeling. The relationship will really flip when the sleep troubles arise because you will see the intertwining of characters as our female lead will grow stronger in order to support her fiancée in comparison to the beginning when he was her shoulder.

There is still so much to talk about, but for now I just wanted to give a general overview of my thoughts for this project! I am so stoked for you guys to see where this goes and I will be posting a lot more information next week!

Until then

NEW YEAR, NEW BLOG: Blog #1

What is going on everybody, yes I've missed you all too!!!!

Quick intro for those who weren't apart of the journey last year, my name is Briana Farnsworth, I'm 17 years old and this is my super awesome blog where I update you on all thing portfolio project. This year has obviously been like no other, but I am excited to see what we have in store. I always think to myself, if we made it past last year, then this year can't be any worse. I mean imagine having this big project planned out, you have a cast, a set, everything you need and then overnight the country practically shuts down. Nobody can leave their house, everything closes, a deadly virus breaks out and the cherry on top is that our portfolio project was due in a mater of weeks and my entire storyline was set with tons of people and in a public club…. no good.

But lucky for me, this year has looked up and we have adapted to this interesting new way of life. With some more knowledge and experience under my belt, I feel pretty confident going into this project, then again I usually feel pretty confident whenever I do stuff.. If your new here you may have been caught off guard by my sarcastic wit, but just a heads up I'm considered to be quite charming so try not to get distracted by this charismatic, poetic, outspoken- OKAY OKAY I'm doing it again... my apologies - gosh it feels good to be me- ANYWAYS back to the project.

Quick side note, yesterday I got into 2 colleges (FAU & FIU) and I'm super excited because I can't wait to take writing more seriously in college and I am using this opportunity to really focus in on what I love to do.

As far as this project goes, I'm going to be working on the film promotion package which will consist of 2 trailers, a social media page, and a movie poster. I already have my idea pretty much set, but I'm gonna be a jerk and make you guys wait for my big idea reveal for the next blog, but don't worry, it will be up Sunday!!!

To conclude my first blog of 2021, I wanted to thank everyone who came back and thank all those who hopped on this new wave and plan on riding it to the end with me, its gonna be a fun time! See y'all Sunday....

Xoxo,

Bri
